The Hotel Adriani in the town of Naxos is the daily
starting-point for our activities in different areas of the island. The computer exercises
will take place in the technical college IEK in the village of Filoti and the field work
will be concentrated on model areas in the montaneous region (Tragea, T Apera- thou)
and at the south west coast of Naxos. |

Weather and clothing |
The weather on the Island of Naxos is usually warm and
sunny, with some differences between coastal and montaneous regions. Mean air temperature
in June is 23,2° Centigrade, as well as the temperature of the Mediterranean Sea. For
outdoor activities and the field training please provide for mountain boots and suitable
clothing. In June the nights may be fresh and sometimes there blows a cool wind at the
day. So you need also a warm pullover and/or jacket. |
Travel |
Participants have to take care on their own for travel
between home and Naxos Island. You find more details about travelling in the covering
letter. |

The hotel offers a restricted number of single rooms. We
are really pleased, if you agree with a double room. So you have better possibilities for
communication. We will ask each arriving participant for consent to the room-partner.
Please let us know about your decision, if you agree to
take a double room. Use the registration form annexed. Weve to charge you 1.200 GRD per night for a single room.
If you inform the hotel or the organisation-team about the
time of your arrival, the hotel-bus will take you from the habour/airport to the hotel. |
Registration Fee |
1,000 ECU The registration fee covers the local accomodation from June 11-18 with breakfast
and one or two meals per day, more- over all course papers and activities, including
transfer between the hotel (Naxos Chora) and the course institutions in the mountain area
and excursions on the island.
The expenses also include course leading and scientific
training by university teachers and scientific staff from Greece, Italy and Germany. |
